School Farm Competition 2024
Applications are now open for an exciting opportunity: the School Farm Competition 2024, organized by KOSMOS INNOVATION CENTER and its partners. This annual competition is a chance for Ghanaian junior high and senior high schools to showcase their agricultural skills and sustainability efforts.
Who Can Apply
The competition is open to all private and public JHS and SHS schools across Ghana. To be eligible, your school must have:
- Access to at least 50m x 50m of land or other planting area
- A reliable, permanent water source
Our evaluators will select schools based on the strength of their applications.
What Participating Schools Must Do
If your school is selected, you’ll be asked to:
- Demarcate a farming area
- Grow assigned crops
- Record progress through photos and diaries
- Develop a business plan for a sustainable farm
Assessment Criteria
Our assessment team will periodically visit schools and evaluate them based on:
- Use of good agricultural practices
- Student involvement and learning
- Community engagement
- Biodiversity protection
- Viability of sustainability plan
Awards Ceremony
Winning schools will be announced at an awards ceremony in late November.
