Ghana currently imports over $250 million worth of fish annually. Mariculture is being positioned as the most viable alternative, especially with wild fish stocks under pressure from overfishing, climate change, and pollution.

The Chamber used the Aqua Future Spain 2025 platform to outline specific incentives:

  • 5-year corporate tax holidays for aquaculture businesses

  • Tax exemptions on imported equipment and fishing inputs

  • A transparent legal and regulatory framework to protect investor interests
